About tHE ExHibition
ALSA - a celebration in its truest sense; brings together a vibrant group of modern and contemporary Indian artists to Singapore, creating a shared space where colour, memory, skill, and imagination meet. Rooted in the many languages of Indian art and culture, the exhibition unfolds like a gathering: spirited, layered, and alive with dialogue across generations and mediums.
J
At the heart of Jalsa is Krishen Khanna, whose iconic figures carry the poetry of everyday life, observing the world with empathy, wit, and a lifelong conviction in human dignity. Thota Vaikuntam offers a striking visual universe of identity and presence, where bold forms and timeless faces evoke the spirit of Telangana with a modern, unmistakable grandeur. The contemplative intensity of Phaneendra Nath Chaturvedi adds another register; drawing viewers into a quieter realm of line, symbol, and inner narrative, where tradition and personal myth converge.Completing this celebratory chorus are the fantastical hand painted sculptures of Yashika Sugandh — playful, intricate, and dreamlike. Miniature worlds that blur the boundaries between object and story, humour and wonder. Together with the exhibition's wider ensemble, Jalsa becomes a meeting of energies: a cultural offering from India to Singapore, and an invitation to experience art as both inheritance and joy.Featured Artists
